Welcome to our 2nd grade family

Hello and welcome! My heart has always been devoted to nurturing young minds and fostering a genuine love for learning. Teaching 2nd grade at Saint Paul Catholic School is a true blessing, where faith, values, and academic excitement come together every day.

My journey as an educator

My name is Rachel Pierce and I bring twenty years of experience in childcare and early education, having worked with wonderful children ranging from newborns to seven years old. After starting as a preschool assistant, I quickly found my calling teaching 2nd grade. What excites me most about Saint Paul Catholic School in Clarkson, Kentucky, is that students receive an engaging, rigorous education while also growing in their faith, kindness, and moral values.

Our classroom style and values

My teaching philosophy is simple: school should be fun, supportive, and comfortable. I am dedicated to creating a safe and loving environment where every child feels truly heard, valued, and encouraged. We will laugh, explore, and celebrate every milestone so that your child wakes up excited to come to class each and every day.

Life outside the classroom

When I am not in the classroom, I cherish time with my big, wonderful family. Prior to returning to school to pursue my teaching degree, I worked as a licensed massage therapist for 20 years. I am an avid distance runner who trains for and runs marathons for fun, and I have a deep passion for art and hands-on creating, which I love weaving into our school days.
