Classroom procedures and expectations

Welcome to our 2nd grade classroom family in Clarkson, Kentucky. Rooted in faith, kindness, and mutual respect, our daily routines and classroom expectations help every student grow academically, socially, and spiritually in a supportive Catholic school environment.

Faith-filled values and caring behavior

In our 2nd grade community, we live out our Christian values every single day. We expect our students to practice kindness, trust one another, share ideas, listen with an open heart, and offer helpful encouragement. Learning to compromise and work peacefully together builds a joyful, secure classroom where everyone can thrive.

Daily routines from arrival to dismissal

Morning drop-off begins promptly at 7:00 am as students unpack and prepare for a great day. Homework is assigned every Tuesday and Thursday to reinforce key lessons. Our school day concludes following our quiet afternoon prayers with dismissal at 2:30 pm. All parents are kindly asked to follow designated parking lot procedures during pick-up to ensure safety for every child.

Teamwork rewards and supporting routines at home

Positive behavior is earned and celebrated together as a whole class team. When correction is needed, students are always offered a second chance to make the right choice while learning personal accountability. At home, parents can support our routines by spending 15 to 20 minutes guiding homework on Tuesdays and Thursdays, along with 15 minutes of shared reading each evening to strengthen vocabulary, fluency, and a love of learning.
