Assignment calendar
Welcome to our second grade assignment schedule. This calendar is updated weekly to keep families informed about upcoming tests, recurring due dates, and classroom routines in Clarkson, Kentucky. All daily assignments are recorded in your child's student planner, and paper materials are sent home in their backpack.
Weekly routines and recurring due dates
To help our second graders build strong organizational habits, we follow regular weekly milestones. School library books are due every Thursday morning so students can check out new books during our library period. Regular spelling tests take place every Friday unless an alternating major subject exam is scheduled.
Upcoming test schedule and study guides
Tests are typically administered on Fridays. A study guide is sent home one week prior to any test date to allow plenty of preparation time. In addition to spelling, our class takes comprehension tests on shared read-alouds, along with math and science tests. Major core subject tests take place every two weeks; during weeks with a core test, we do not have a spelling test.
Planners and backpack paper copies
We believe in building personal responsibility with hands-on materials. Every assignment, project requirement, and due date is written directly into your child's daily planner. All worksheets, study packets, and homework pages are provided as hard copies in their backpack, making it simple to review learning together every evening.
